    Job Responsibilities

    The Field Assistant will work directly under the supervision of the Farm Supervisor and will play an important role in day-to-day farming operations. The key duties include:

    1. Supporting Farm Supervisor – Work under direct supervision, following instructions and assisting with all farm-related tasks.

    2. Sawdust Preparation – Help prepare sawdust used as the growing medium for mushroom production.

    3. Media Preparation – Assist in preparing sawdust media for inoculation, ensuring it is ready for cultivation.

    4. Bagging Work – Operate or support in using the sawdust bagging machine to prepare bags for mushroom growth.

    5. Autoclaving – Help with autoclaving the sawdust media and transferring sterilized materials to the inoculation room.

    6. Handling Mushroom Bags – Assist in moving incubated mushroom bags from the incubation room to the fruiting room.

    7. Harvesting and Packaging – Participate in harvesting, grading, and packaging fresh mushrooms to prepare them for sale.

    8. Farm Maintenance – Take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the farm area.


    Skills and Qualities Needed

    • Willingness to perform physical, hands-on tasks.

    • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team.

    • Good work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.

    • Interest in farming or mushroom production (preferred but not mandatory).

    • Attention to cleanliness and detail.
